Seaside Dress

My newest design Seaside dress has been published in Interweave Crochet Summer 2015.
I am so  satisfied  with this design.
I spent lots of time on the yarn choices, the color choices, and the schematic, before I started to pick up my hook.
I am really happy with the final results.
Here are some pictures for you. It is the first cover piece for me. Cheers! (Interweave Crochet/Harper Point Photography)

  2. Is there somewhere to get HELP on the Seaside Dress? I got as far as FRONT NECK AND SHOULDERS and do not understand what to do beyond 'place marker in 59th ch'. Where does the 176 ch come from? What is the 68 sts. What are the 'joined, turned rnds. Am a veteran of 40+ years of crocheting; but don't get these instructions at all.

    2. I think I can explain this. 176 ch means you will add up 122 ch that you just made plus 54 1-ch space, total will be 176 ch. 68 sts means the rest of the dc stitches. Normally work in rnds we always facing the RS and join with a sl st without turn the work. This way you will need to join the rnd but will turn the work to WS to work the next rnd. See if this will help!

    1. I didn't draw anything for her because I found out it is just the words problem. So I explained the paragraph for her. If you can not see my reply I will copy and paste here. I hope that will help you out.

  4. Hello!
I'm having a bit of trouble with the lower body part.
It's really hard to figure this part out for me:
    "Sizes 33 (37)" only:
Next row (dec): With CC1, sl st in first 2
sts, work main st patt Row 2, with center inc
and dec 3 sts at beg and end to last 2 sts, sl st
    in last 2 sts, turn—180 (192) sts.
Next row (dec): Sl st in first 2 sts, work
main st patt Row 3, with center inc and dec 3
sts at beg and end, turn—178 (190) sts.
Next 2 rows: Work main st patt Rows 4−5,
with center inc and dec 3 at beg and end,
    turn."
Do I need to sl st in 2 st at the beginning and the end of each row? Do I need in addition to dec 3 in the beginning and then decrease 3 again in the end of each row? The stitch count also doesn't quite work for me - if I had 194 st in row 6, and in row 7 I increased by 6 st and dec 3 from each end - I should stay with 194 st, but the pattern says it's 192... I feel like I'm missing something. A drawing of this part would really help - the part that had a drawing was so much easier to follow...
    Thank you!

    2. I went back and looked at my original pattern. Let’s talk about the slip stitch first. The 2 slipped stitches at the big and the end of the row is for decreasing the under arm. It is only worked 2 rows. The stitch count is wrong too. It should be decreased 4 stitches on each row.
Dec 3 at the beg and the end of the row. It is ch 4 (does not count as a stitch), crochet next 3 together—3 sts decd.
Yes for the first 2 rows, you do so sl 2 and dec 3 at the same time.

  5. Please help. I am stuck on the same part of the pattern and unable to proceed. Please clarify the dec 3 sts at beginning and end and slip stitch. I do not see a response to Natalie's post!

    Thanks

  8. Hi guys. i've just worked this dress for 1 day but i really don't understand so many things, hope getting help from everyone. I'm at "Front neck & shoulder", the problem is I don't know where to put the 2nd marker, does it count from the joint or the opposite? And Why is "4 hdc before 2nd marker", cause 2nd marker is on chain of 110-add up, there aren't any hcd, it is just a chain. So crazy
